I chose to write a blog post about Building Professional Credibility through the medium of videography for PR and HR freelancing representatives. Dozens of messages and modes of address a company’s publics are communicated by videos. Moreover, they are increasingly needed every passing day. Businesses use Public Relations to communicate messages about the company for its intended publics. Businesses large enough to have these position openings will most likely outsource these video projects, which is expensive and time consuming compared to having them developed in-house.
Videos are quickly becoming the recommended way consumers prefer to receive information. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world now. They are a quick and easy way to absorb information. If a company hires an employee for an HR or PR position, skills and knowledge in the field of videography are most likely needed as well. This could be an opportunity for a business to kill two birds with one stone.

This blog post enhances my online portfolio by demonstrating critical thinking skills by converting knowledge into a real-world application. It also addresses the climate of the Film Club. This was done to inadvertently communicate that, I place myself around people with good character and illustrate that my hobbies are a productive and healthy outlet. Lastly, I believe future employers would like to see candidates with relevant hobbies. Especially, when they are an intricate part of the Professional Communications field. It can demonstrate passion for the practice of Public Relations or even Human Resources in a professional light, while at the same time, providing forethought, and future ready mindset with insight on new PR tactics, and genuine interest in the profession its self.
